A Healthy Dose of Life Inspo

Every now and then I find it really useful to evaluate how I’m living my life and whether or not that’s in line with my values as a creative person. I’ve always tried to surround myself with tons of inspiration; and I fondly remember my teenage bedroom littered with fashion and interior magazines, books, half-filled sketchbooks, thrifted and vintage clothing, cameras and art materials. Browsing blogs was another huge source of inspiration and it continues to be to this day.

Nowadays, I don’t have as much time as I’d like to scour the web looking for my next dose of inspiration and I have a feeling that the same might go for you to. Luckily, I’ve acquired several favorite corners of the web so I can point you in the right direction. Or maybe you’re already a fan and can corroborate my claims! I refer to these bloggers again and again, not just for hauls & skincare routines (although i do that too) but for the positive and genuine quality of their content and for how they make me want to improve aspects of my life. Here’s a few of my favorite sources for some serious life inspiration.

The Anna Edit | for getting organized

Anna’s blog and YouTube channel are where I go for awesome capsule wardrobe seasonal updates and productivity hacks. She’s even written a book called An Edited Life all about ‘editing’ different aspects of life for a more productive and balanced life. I love her Virgo mind, her attention to detail, her beautiful photos and a practical approach towards building a fun and wearable wardrobe. One of her tips that I’ve already adapted as my own is to keep your to-do list down to as few items as possible, writing down one large task instead of breaking it into smaller tasks. This seems counterintuitive but actually helps curb some of that impending anxiety that comes with a mile-long to-do list. I can’t wait to read her book and see what other life hacks she has to offer!

Kate La Vie | for surrounding yourself with beauty

A huge source of interior inspiration comes from the cozy, pastel dream home of Kate Spiers. You can practically smell the Jo Malone candle and fresh floral arrangements just by scrolling through her Instagram feed (I wish). But what I’m most drawn to about her interior design approach is how well it seems to reflect her personal style. I love the idea of surrounding yourself with things that are a true reflection of yourself. And of course this is a gradual process that takes time. Kate’s blog and YouTube posts remind me to be thoughtful about what I bring into my space, as I know it will influence how I feel and how I create.

Jenny Mustard | for positive affirmations

While there are a lot of things I love about Jenny Mustard, from her minimalist home decor to her quirky approach to beauty and styling, I often find myself going to her YouTube channel and podcasts for a ‘You Do You’ pep talk. She’s a great source of inspiration for being true to yourself and embracing your uniqueness. What a lovely message! She also recently came out with a book called Simple Matters all about, you guessed it, simplifying your lifestyle, and I can’t wait to read this as well!
