A Few Winter Skincare Products

Not a Sponsored Post, Items Gifted.

Every winter my skincare routine goes a bit out of whack and I realize that the products I use throughout the rest of the year aren’t quite cutting it. This season I’ve been able to try out a few new products and sort of mix and match things in an attempt to rehydrate my skin. So here are a few new products I’m trying out that have been helping me through the cold season.

A New Moisturizer

I’ve tried out a few new ones this season, the latest being the Bliss Bright Idea Moisturizer which is cruelty free and vegan. I really love the consistency of this moisturizer as it goes on feeing lightweight while still hydrating my drier than normal skin. This is a Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer, which I don’t really fully comprehend but there are two words that check boxes for me, ‘Vitamin C’ & ‘Brightening’.

Apparently this moisturizer contains a very mild form of Vit. C so as not to irritate the skin (as flare ups have been a theme for me this season) and the Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant to help with the skin’s regenerative properties. And while I’m completely unsure of what a “Tri-Peptide” is, I understand it to just be the agents that protect the collagen and give your skin more elasticity, which is all fine and good to me, but more research is needed.

I’m also going to link a few more products from this brand that I’m already super excited to try out!

Underarm Care

I struggle so much with finding a good natural deodorant and because of my skin’s sensitivity in that area, most drug store deodorants are too irritating after a long period of use and natural deodorants too weak for every day. This becomes even more of an issue during winter when the cold dries out and further irritates my skin. So basically every time I come across a new natural deodorant that seems somewhat legit, I’m very willing to try it (in a trial period on the weekends just in case). Right now I’m trying out the type: A Deodorant which is Aluminum Free (yay!) with Sweat Activated Technology (sounds promising). I’m hoping to just give my underarms a little break on the weekends from that terrible drugstore stuff and then move on to full time use if it holds up well. So the verdict is still out on this one but so far so good!

Shea Butter Goodness

One thing I always neglect during the winter is a good body lotion but I’m trying to be better about that (along with drinking more water). I’ve been trying out a drugstore classic brand, the Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Whipped Shea Butter. I’m well aware of the many many benefits of using shea butter but I’ve not liked the actual consistency of it when I’ve tried in the past, too thick and heavy. But this body lotion, which is chock-full of shea butter and several other natural oils, passes my touch test - it’s not too heavy, not sticky and it lasts! Is 2020 the year of moisturized skin? I’m gonna say YAAAS.

So that’s all for my roundup of new winter skincare products. Do you have any go-to products when you need to boost your normal routine? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading! xx Jessica
