Where to Stay in Miami: JW Marriott Turnberry

A Relaxing Resort Experience

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott Turnberry whilst tagging along on my mom’s work trip. This was my first time visiting Miami and such a wonderful impromptu trip right after returning home from chilly London. This was also one of my first experiences staying at a resort of this size. While most of my four day trip was spent working from the hotel room (and occasionally from the outdoor balcony) it was still so lovely to enjoy morning walks for coffee, brunch at the cafe and evening drinks poolside. So here’s a look around our room and this beautiful Mediterranean style resort. If you’re headed to Miami soon be sure to bookmark this post for your next visit.

Tropical Opulence for Living & Working

The room was so comfortable and spacious with all the amenities needed for a relaxing and productive stay. Apart from the plush double King beds, the separate living room and desk area provided ample space for living and working. The bathroom included a big tub, separate shower and large marble vanity. The room was complete with a private balcony and outdoor seating area overlooking the palm tree-lined golf courses and high rises in the distance, the perfect spot for a room service brunch.

Where to Eat, Drink, Relax & Play

Apart from the beautiful rooms overlooking the stunning Miami Beach skyline, there are so many other attractions at the resort itself. The Turnberry is perhaps most well known for the Tidal Wave Waterpark open to all guests, its sprawling golf courses and the âme Spa & Wellness Collective. Upon arrival we headed straight to the Corsair Kitchen and Bar for brunch, which consisted of some delicious gluten free waffles and a vegan scramble. We also spent some much needed time relaxing poolside at the adult pool located away from the kid-friendly waterpark. There we got a bite to eat and a glass of wine at the bar while enjoying the incredibly warm summer weather. You’ve got to love winter in Florida!

On the Doorstep of Miami

While it’s easy to spend all of your time at the resort itself, it’s also conveniently located across the street from Aventura Mall and just a short drive from downtown Miami. Not to mention, there is a beautiful stretch of beaches just outside the resort. We took a walk along Sunny Isle, situated on the northern end of Miami Beach. Even on a day with one and off rainstorms the sun was still shining bright, the two-mile stretch of white sand beach was peaceful and pristine and the clear water (ideal for snorkeling) was the most brilliant shade of turquoise. There is so much more to explore in Miami itself, which I am excited to revisit on a future trip, but for now we were quite content to take a slower pace and enjoy all that the JW Marriott Turnberry had to offer.
