How to Style This Season's Skirt & Blogger Meet Ups

If your style leans more on the androgynous side of things, like a lot of minimalists tends to do, then this season’s trendiest skirt may have you feeling a bit uneasy. I often feel that trend pieces don’t suit my personal style but I still love them for one reason or another. That was my first reaction when I started seeing that Realisation Par leopard print silk skirt popping up everywhere, and the many many great high street dupes. The effortlessness of this look really appealed to the more feminine aspect of my personal style and with that, I set out to experiment a little and make this trend my own. Here’s how I went about styling a very trendy piece in a way that still felt like me.

This past weekend I attended my first blogger meet up event, hosted by Cabe Partners and the lovely Stephany. This is the first time I’ve participated in a blogger event, and I will say that I really enjoyed it! I’m someone who finds it quite hard to find friends who share my same interests in photography, fashion and blogging. And as someone who is very driven by personal projects, it’s really exciting when I meet likeminded people.

Putting yourself out there is something I think a lot of people my age struggle with. Being so immersed in social media and online interactions on a daily basis, I sometimes feel like I’m way less equipped to handle IRL interactions. It may sounds crazy, but for an introverted creative who is relatively new to the San Diego scene, that’s my reality. But that’s why events like blogger meet ups are so important for building communities and, for people like me, for finding a community that I feel happy to be apart of. Needless to say, I’m very excited to keep attending events in the future.

Thanks for reading and let me know how you would style the leopard skirt trend in the comments below. xx Jessica
