Jessica Harumi Bathroom Essentials

I’ve recently started sharing more skincare reviews here on the blog as I learn about clean beauty and define my own routine. Today I want to focus on my non-skincare-related bathroom essentials. I’m talking about oral hygiene, bath and body products and an updated review of my go-to refillable deodorant. These are a few products I’ve incorporated into my everyday routine to keep myself feeling so fresh and so clean. Read on for a roundup of my favorite clean and sustainable self-care products.

by Humankind Deodorant

I’ve been using the by Humankind refillable deodorant for a couple years now and it’s still one of my favorite natural deodorants. My opinions have not really changed since my first review of this product back in 2019. Quite surprisingly, that happens to be my most popular blog post to date and I’ve since been asked to share an updated review, which is why I decided to include it in today’s roundup.

Since my last post, the brand has come out with more scent options and a lower price point - which addresses two of my main concerns. I’ve since tried the eucalyptus and lavender-citrus scents as well as the unscented option. As I mentioned in my previous review, the eucalyptus is quite powdery, which I’m still not a fan of and the unscented option didn’t do it for me either. Luckily, the lavender-citrus scent did not disappoint, as I often tend to buy lavender-scented products anyways. Although definitely not overpowering, it is more of a floral perfumey scent so I hope that one of the other options would appeal to someone looking for a more masculine scent.

The price has also reduced from $14.95 to $12, which although may still seem like a high price point for deodorant, is well worth it in my opinion for reasons stated in my last review; namely it’s natural (sensitive skin-friendly) yet affective formula and low-waste packaging. I’m still very happy to recommend this product to anyone looking for a great natural and refillable deodorant.

Esby Apparel Linen Bathrobe

I kid you not, I have been looking for the perfect full length linen robe for over a year now and I finally found it in this Esby Apparel striped linen robe. I really cherish my time getting ready (and unready) each day and I like to dress the part too. A linen robe feels so luxurious and helps me ease into my self care routines. It’s also lightweight for the warmer months and cute enough to hang out in for a little while if I’m having a particularly slow morning. My mom wears a similar Japanese yukata in the summertime and this piece reminds me so much of that. The linen robe, which comes in a few different colors, is part of Esby’s lounge collection and has some cute matching tops and bottoms.

OJOOK NHA Toothpaste & Silk Floss

One of the best new products I’ve tried recently happens to be oral care-related. I’ve tried several natural toothpastes over the years and it’s honestly never been something to write home about but OJOOK’s low-waste products really peaked my interest. The toothpaste is formulated with nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA), a fluoride substitute that remineralizes enamel and alleviates sensitivity. It basically mimics the mineral your body produces naturally, eliminating the need for fluoride (which many natural toothpastes omit without substitution).

The OJOOK products also feature bamboo salt (Jukyeom) which is a natural ingredient that’s been used in Eastern medicine for thousands of years to reduce symptoms of gum inflammation, restore ideal mouth chemistry and prevents cavities. Who knew I’d be such a fan of salty toothpaste? The 100% biodegradable silk floss is also coated in bamboo salt and comes in a refillable glass jar.

Perhaps my favorite thing about OJOOK is the brand’s mission, based in East-Asian philosophy, to extend the lifespan of our bodies and planet by transforming daily routine into sacred rituals. The Intention Toothbrush has a space for you to set and write down your own intention to be reminded of every day. Now that’s a sentiment I can really get behind.

OJOOK has kindly offered me a code to share with you! Use code JESSICAHARUMI to receive a free low-waste bamboo Intention Toothbrush with your order.

Nécessaire The Body Essentials Set

I’ve been using the Nécessaire Body Essentials set for a while now in Sandalwood, a gorgeous earthy fragrance. I recently tried out Eucalyptus and adore the slightly more floral, almost citrusy fragrance. What I love most about Nécessaire is that it’s supposed to be skincare for your body. The Body Wash is one of my favorites and the unscented Body Lotion is lightweight and dries smoothly. I can’t tell you how big of a fan of the Body Exfoliator I am, as it doesn’t dry out my skin like some other products I’ve tried and gives my skin a healthy glow. All of the Nécessaire products are cruelty-free and clean beauty approved.
