My June Goals

Jessica Harumi My June Goals

To be perfectly honest, as I sat down to write out this monthly goals post on Memorial Day all I could really think about is “I do not dream of labor” which is maybe not the best mindset to be in but I’ve got bank holiday brain at the moment. But all jokes aside, I am looking forward to some fun dates this month, and life returning to a somewhat regular rhythm this summer, a thought that both excites and induces anxiety in me at the same time. Anyways, enough chit chat, here’s what I’ll be working on in the month of June.

Last Month In Review

May was a very productive month for me, busy with fun jobs and personal projects. I also managed to tick off each one of the May Goals I mentioned in a previous post. I just recently updated my Shop page, actually changing it to a monthly blog post format. You can read the first of the series here and it will live under “Current Favorites” on the Shop page tab along with homeware edits. I’ve also managed to play around some more with my new camera lens (although I’m still getting used to it) and made myself a little financial roadmap for the next 6 months. If you wrote down some monthly goals for May, how did yours go?

Celebrate A Wedding

June is starting off strong as we celebrate my brother’s wedding at the beginning of the month! It will be a small wedding but with wonderful company and it’s such a treat to finally be able to celebrate with family. I will also be the wedding photographer (the first time I’ve ever shot a wedding) so I’m definitely feeling some nerves about their big day. In the meantime, I’ve been brushing up on my camera settings and figuring out how to use an on camera flash for the first time. Wish me luck with that, but I’m sure it will be an absolutely beautiful day for all of us.

Read A New Book

I’ve been lagging a bit on my 12 books for 2021 reading goal. I’ve somehow managed only 5 books since the year started, which means I’m still on track with my goal if I can read at least one a month for the remainder of the year. I’m nearly finished with The Alchemist, a quick read that’s been on my “to read” list for the longest time now. I’m absolutely loving it thought and will probably power through the remaining 30 odd pages by the end of the day. If you’re interested we can be friends on Goodreads! I’ve also been enjoying Jack Edwards YouTube channel because it’s absolutely the most entertaining channel I’ve subbed to in a minute and also a wonderful source for discovering some potential reading material. If you’ve recently read anything amazing, I’d love a recommendation!

Stay More Connected

One thing that always drops off my to-do list when things start to get busy, is replying to all the lovely comments and questions that I receive on my Instagram posts, YouTube videos and blog posts. That’s something I really want to get better about this month because being able to connect with you all is the best part of working in this online space. I will need to device a plan to work this into my daily routine in a sustainable way so that I don’t put them off forever and end up replying to months-old messages out of nowhere one day. As always, I’m really blown away by the sweet messages I receive so I want you all to know what I do see them and appreciate them immensely!

So that’s just about all of it for my goals this month. What are you currently working towards in your personal and professional life? Do you set yourself monthly goals or are you more of a long-term planner? Let me know in the comments!
