Fall Season Favorites

Fall is almost upon us and with that comes the exciting back to school feeling of planning the Fall wardrobe. This season I am loving a few key trends that I think work well with my personal style. These are pieces that are pretty on-trend at the moment but are classic enough that they can be seamlessly incorporated into any wardrobe. If you see something you like, click the image for the link. And let me know you plan to add to your wardrobe this Fall in the comments below!

The Vegan Leather Bag

One thing I have at the top of my list this season is a new every day bag. I am currently loving the JW PEI vegan leather bags. The Fiona bag is a definite staple, a structured, expandable crossbody bag, and it comes in so many different colors. While my practical side says go for all black, the classic shape does lend itself well to a more statement color. I also love the Mansur Gavriel-esque Bucket Bag and the Circle Top Handle Bag and the Chloe-inspired Double Moon Crosbody.

Smart Tailored Pants

While I’ve been a fan of tailored pants for some time, this season I hope to make these an important part of my wardrobe. I love the smartness of a black tailored trouser and how they look paired with white sneakers or black heeled boots. This season I definitely want to embrace the 70s trend with cropped flared cuts in fun plaid and check patterns. Along those lines, I’m also majorly into the corduroy trend and love the burnt orange and mauve options I’ve seen. I recently picked up these cropped flared corduroy trousers in pink and a pair in black and can’t wait to style them with knits and simple graphic tees. I’ve even considered adding a corduroy blazer to my collection to seal the deal.

70s Loafers

While the search for the perfect pair of black leather boots is a never-ending saga for me, there is another pair of shoes on my radar this season and that is the 70’s loafer. I love how quirky these are but would look incredibly cool paired with a pair of vintage-cut denim or cropped pants. As someone who tries to avoid anything with a real heel, loafers feel a bit more dressed up while still maintaining that androgynous style that I love.

Warmer Color Palette

One way I will embrace wearing more color in my wardrobe this season is to incorporate a lot of the burnt-orange, mustard yellow, blush pinks and neutral browns into my color palette. These shades look so nice paired with gray, black and off-white, and will help to warm up these cooler months ahead. Th burnt-orange color is also huge this season and I’ve found so many cozy tops in this shade.

Chunky Oversized Knits

Of course, this is a major staple of every Fall wardrobe but every season there are a host of new styles and colors to choose from. Here is what I’m loving this season: blush pink and icey blue colors, bell shaped sleeves, and very oversized knits in neutral tones. I just picked up a sort of taupe colored oversized knit with a mock neck collar from H&M and cannot wait until if gets cool enough outside to wear it!

The Teddy Coat

One thing I am particularly excited for is the appropriate weather to wear a teddy coat in. I’m so happy this cozy trend is making a return this year, and with new styles, textures and colors to choose from. San Diego gets really cold for about a few months, and I plan to be very prepared this year. Asos has a lot of options in this department!
