Gift Guide: For Him

Round two of the Gift Guides and this one is all about the guys you’re shopping for this season. Sometimes I think it can be hard to shop for men but usually I like to start with their hobbies and go from there. My favorite person to shop for is of course my boyfriend Kyle, and it’s surprisingly easy if you know what to look for. It also helps to keep your eyes and ears open for any hints. So read on for some great gifts for your favorite guys!

Cover Up

I love buying clothes for the men in my life because there are some great eveyday pieces out there that will be welcome in anyone’s wardrobe this time of year. Some of my go-to’s are the Merino wool sweaters, Heat Tech and lightweight down jackets that Uniqlo does so well. Kyle recently picked up this corduroy number and it’s different enough to anything else he has and also comes in a pretty festive color.

Finishing Touches

Another great option is all the accessories, things we all want and need in our wardrobe come winter, but sometimes forget, or put off buying for ourselves. I love a good beanie and a cashmere one is even more luxurious. Or consider a new wallet or card holder, a practical yet stylish gift- my favorite brand to shop for this is Herschel. A classic pair or Ray Ban sunglasses or some sustainable and sleek Veja Esplar sneakers add the finishing touches to every outfit.

Top Shelf Toiletries

While most of the men I shop for keep their skincare and haircare to a pretty minimal routine, I do love the opportunity to introduce them to a new product when I can. Kiehl’s is a brand that pretty much everyone can get behind and the Ultra Facial Moisturizer or a gift set are great introductions to the brand. Another natural brand that my dad (and mom) loves is L’Occitane, specifically the range of lavender products they do. A simple hair pomade or beard oil are also easy favorites for a quick bit of pampering in the morning.

Hobbies Galore

The gifts I love to shop for most with Kyle is music-related things as we have similar taste in music so I get to benefit from it too! A good speaker and record player setup is a must, and even better if it’s all bluetooth compatible so you can listen from anywhere. I love the retro look of the portable Marshall speakers and the Audio-Technica record players (who make great and affordable entry level setups). And of course a record makes for a great, nostalgic gift to add to the collection. For reading materials, the Wallpaper City Guide books are so cute and collectable, or a set of cocktail recipe books make a nice addition to a bar cart.
